Assigned Seating
If you are going to have assigned seating for all of your guests, these tips will help everyone.
- Make the names on the cards BIG. Tiny print makes it harder to read for everyone, not just the elderly.
- If you put the name cards on the tables, have a "Master List" of everyone's name and table number. Put this list in alphabetical order and have it at the entrance of the reception room. This way your guests can find their table and be seated in a timely manner.
- Try not to seat elderly guests next to the entertainment table. Even soft dinner music will be uncomfortable for them.
Disposable Cameras
Before putting the cameras on the tables, here is another great tip.
- Take the cameras out of their box or wrapper before setting them on the tables. This simple step will not only encourage your guests to use them, but it also eliminates trash on the table.
Outdoor Events
Check with your Caterer and DJ about the amount of power needed.
- Example, If your caterer is going to use a deep fryer, that unit may need it's own circuit because it draws so much power.
- Your DJ may need additional power according to their sound and lighting requirements.
- It's good to have a covered area not only for bad weather, but also for heat protection.
Being on Time
If you are going to shoot some formal photography before the ceremony, it's important that everyone be on time. Also, it's important that everyone go directly to the reception after the ceremony. Many times someone makes a pit stop somewhere, and they don't make it to the reception site in time for the introductions.
